 2006 - Pomona Grain Empty

Between Roza Dam and Pomona, Washington, the Yakima River canyon is deeper and more rugged than in any other part. Just west of Pomona an empty BNSF grain train winds its way through the final curves of this ruggedness before exiting the canyon. Soon this train will be rolling through the farmland of the Yakima Valley toward Pasco. Most eastbounds using the Stampede and Yakima Valley Subdivisions are empty grain trains from Tacoma returning east for another load.
