2007 - Station Stop Salem
Amtrak Cascades Train 1005 stops at Salem, Oregon, and debarks passengers. Salem's modest brick station has been restored and is a fabulous place for passengers to gather while waiting for their train. In August 2007, the Talgo cars normally used on this train were sidelined due to suspension cracks; Amtrak provided Amfleet and Horizon cars as substitutes. By Day in North America, some sets were repaired and returned to service, but this train is still running with substitute equipment.
